As a trained builder and electrician, he saw possibility where others saw problems. He moved every tenant out, not to abandon the space, but to “restore it from the inside out”. What followed was a multi-year complete reconstruction – done not by contractors, but by John’s own hands and supported by skilled craftsmen when necessary.

He rebuilt closets and cupboards; and built additional bathrooms and kitchens.
He repaired and replaced sinks, showers, and faucets.
He built and plastered walls and corrected structural flaws.
He upgraded the electrics to modern standards, and enhanced the interior and exterior lighting for greater guest safety.
He repainted every surface, inside and out.
